Stanford Mechanical Engineering Research Laboratory Controls Upgrade

Stanford Mechanical Engineering Research Laboratory Controls Upgrade

Gayner Engineers served as the Prime Designer for this $2 million lab HVAC infrastructure and controls upgrade, including the conversion of constant volume to variable air volume lab exhaust and supply system, pneumatic to DDC controls upgrade, installation of new variable frequency drives, and installation of new lighting occupancy sensors for lighting controls and room ventilation setback interface.  Gayner Engineers conducted extensive field survey for existing condition verification and developed a set of as-builts for demolition and new work plans.  Detailed sequence of operation was developed for each lab to ensure accurate scope was captured in the construction documents.  In order to assist the University in budget controls, a number of alternate adds and unit pricing items were included in the bid documents.  Our office also participated in preparing bid forms, bid review, and bidder interview.
