Research Laboratories and Vivariums
Modern research facilities require high level environmental controls, sustainable building systems, and safe operational environments. Different environmental control requirements, such as ventilation, lighting, temperature control, relative humidity, fume hood exhaust, and acoustical requirements, provide unique engineering design challenges. Gayner Engineers has extensive MEP planning and design experience in complex lab construction projects. Our thorough understanding of different mechanical and electrical requirements for labs allows us to contribute to the successful planning and delivery of many challenging projects for our clients.
Health Care Facilities
Medical facilities are of special interest to us due to their high level of complexity and involvement in high technology, as well as the provision of a pleasant human environment. We have successfully completed over 30 medical facility projects involving surgery, ICU’s, CCU’s, PICU’s, LDRP’s step-down care units, patient wards, psychiatric wards, cath labs, nuclear medicine, NMR’s, x-ray, pharmacies, clinical labs, morgues, pathology labs, dialysis units, blood-banks, medical records, skilled nursing facilities and medical offices. As a result of our extensive medical facility design work, we are familiar with the requirements of OSHPD as well as the State Fire Marshal's office. We have the experience and expertise to properly execute new projects as well as remodel and addition designs in existing hospital facilities.
Gayner Engineers has extensive experience in energy management systems for critical environments. Our design responsibilities include selecting the right kind of system, creating control point diagrams, detailed sequences of operation, specification of products, and shop drawing reviews.
We have a broad base of laboratory control sequences for highly efficient and reliable operation. These including variable volume control, room pressurization control, fume hood face velocity control, chilled water optimization, heat recovery control, air handler control, etc.
Designs have included from small remodel areas to extensive campuses consisting of multi-purpose use buildings tied together with a central control system. Systems are either all new or are designed as an extension of an existing system.
