Confidential Client – Vivarium RH Study

Conducted a forensic engineering study to diagnose the humidification control issues for the vivarium air handling unit system.  Due to the lack of record control sequence and documentation, Gayner Engineers had to reconstruct the control sequence based on the source codes.  An inductive engineering analysis was also performed for each individual system components, including the steam distribution, steam control valve, humidifier’s integral controls, interface between the humidifier and BAS system, internal water level controls of the humidifier, RH sensors, psychometric performance, animal cage exhaust, and chiller controls.  An extensive trending exercise was also executed to monitor the behavior of the system and response of the control system.  The results and recommendations were presented in a comprehensive report.
