David has extensive experience in design and construction of experience in research, healthcare and institutional projcets. He is a versatile engineering professional who is capable in planning and design of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems. This unique ability allows him to bring insightful thinking and develop effective solutions in solving construction and engineering problems early in his projects. David leads the high performance building design practice of Gayner Engineers. He has extensive background in energy modeling and controls retrofits.
As a hands-on principal, David engages in detailed design, field survey, coordination, quality control, and client relationship management on a daily basis. His thoroughness in preparing high quality construction documents has successfully delivered many challenging projects for his clients.
Shuen Lo, PE, Principal
Mr. Shuen Lo has been handling projects of increasing magnitude and responsibility for Gayner Engineers since 1983. Shuen is a hands-on engineer. He is involved in the design, coordination, and project management for his projects on a daily basis. Shuen’s experience includes institutional, research, industrial, and governmental projects involving design of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, as well as project coordination for all disciplines.
Shuen has extensive background in complex infrastructure upgrade projects. His construction experience allows him to bring insights on constructability and interdisciplinary coordination. Shen has served as Prime Designer in leading multiple design teams in delivering many infrastructure upgrade projects.
Michelle Rasonsky, PE, LEED AP, Associate Principal
Mrs. Rasonsky joined Gayner Engineers in 2000 as a staff engineer. She is experienced in both large scale capital projects as well as complex remodels. Michelle is responsible for the delivery of some of the most challenging projects, including Stanford Shriram Bioengineering Center, Stanford Cellular Therapeutic Lab Renovation, Stanford Chemistry-Medicine-Engineering for Human Health, and Stanford Lucas Expansion, for Gayner Engineers. Michelle is known for her ability and capacity to manage complex and high-volume coordination with owners, architects, and design-assist contractors for large scale projects. Her willingness and responsiveness in team collaboration is instrumental in many successful projects.
Randy DeCuyper, Associate Principal
Mr. DeCuyper has over 35 years of experience in electrical engineering. His capabilities include the ability to strategically plan electrical systems, to unravel and understand existing electrical systems and conditions, and his attention to detail in the preparation of the electrical contract documents. His work has included field surveys and inspections of existing electrical systems, lighting and lighting control systems, power distribution systems, fire detection and alarm systems, and emergency power generation systems. He has worked on a wide range of projects including healthcare, research labs, justice facilities, historical buildings, seismic improvement projects, and complex renovation projects.
Randy has extensive design experience for large scale research facilities. He is thoroughly familiar with lab planning coordination, electrical requirements for different types of lab equipment, lighting design for labs, emergency power requirements, and electrical design for hazardous material handling facilities.
Benson Ngo, PE, Associate Principal
Mr. Ngo worked as a design-build electrical engineer for 18 years prior to his appointment with Gayner Engineers in 2009. His extensive field experience and understanding of the construction requirements of different electrical systems have allowed him to contribute to the successful delivery of many projects for Gayner Engineers. He understands the criticalness of being flexible in responding to last minute and frequent changes. He is capable of quickly developing design options and articulating complex issues in layman’s terms to his team members.
Benson’s experience includes biotechnology, life science research, semiconductor manufacturing, data center, commercial, and governmental facilities. He has extensive design and planning experience in complex large-scale power infrastructure upgrade projects. Benson is also an expert in coordination study and arc flash analysis.
